Who are we? 15 West is a resident and volunteer-powered newsroom dedicated to connecting people mile by mile, block by block, throughout Chicago’s West Side and neighboring suburbs.
Made possible by Cook County’s Digital Equity Impact Grant, and operated by 501(c)(3) arts publisher Lucky Jefferson, we are designing one of the first news spaces for readers of all needs, abilities, and competencies.
Our goal is to make the news easier to understand and reduce the chances that someone is misinformed about the world around them.
We're neurodiverse first, getting news to people of all abilities.
